This ghoulishly delicious creation comes from Death Ave (appropriately enough) in Manhattan, courtesy of bartender Stamatis Dimakis. Featuring grape brandy, sweet vermouth, lime juice, agave nectar, and a jolt of briny black squid ink, it’s a bold riff on the most classic cocktail of all.
Whip one up before heading out to the Halloween reboot, or your local Halloween parade, or any time you want to indulge your dark side. Here’s the potion:
- 2.25 oz grape brandy
- .75 oz sweet vermouth
- .75 oz fresh lime juice
- .5 oz agave nectar
- .25 oz squid ink
- Sprig of fresh oregano, for garnish
- Add grape brandy, vermouth, lime juice, agave, and squid ink to a shaker filled with ice; shake to combine and chill.
- Strain into a chilled Coupe glass.
- Garnish with a sprig of fresh oregano.
