Food & Drink

Big-time tennis, corned beef tacos, and Ultra make up your weekend

  • Starting Thursday, eat all the elephant ears you can handle, then watch your puke stick to the wall in the Gravitron at the Fair before driving yourself home because you're a big boy now. Gloriously recall your childhood through here

  • Love Alexandr Dolgopolov? Of course you do. Want to (possibly) see him at next week's Sony Open tennis tournament for free? Then win tickets and score free Bombay Sapphire drinks at Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita Friday night. Check out the slate
  • There's some kind of music festival going on at Bayfront Park this weekend. Ultimus or Ulterior or something. Swedish House Mafia opens things up Friday, while Deadmau5 climbs out of his hole for his first appearance of the year Saturday, and Armin Van Buuren and Above & Beyond wrap things up on Sunday. Limited first-weekend tickets are still available through here
  • Slow Food Miami is holding its vaguely punny Snail of Approval Tasting Dinner at 7p at the James Royal Palm hotel. Chef Norman Van Aken and others will plate up local, farm-to-table favorites. Get your tickets here
  • Saturday

  • winningART has its first annual pARTy at ArtCenter/South Florida on Lincoln Road. Win art that's almost better than Dawson Leary's Jaws poster, or just enjoy the food and drinks. See all about that raffle
  • Sunday

  • Mercadito chef Patricio (that's Patrick in Spanish!) Sandoval will be serving corned beef and cabbage tacos with habanero horseradish aioli at Mercadito's alternative St. Paddy's Day. They have regular tacos, too!
  • Brickell Fest will take over the open space on South Miami Ave and 10th Street at noon with whiskey and green beer, plus tastes from Irish faves El Vato, Ms. Cheezious, and the Slow Food Truck. Oh, and Fado'll be doing Kegs & Eggs starting at 8a sharp. There's no cover at Fado if you buy tickets here
