If throwing boiling water into the near-Arctic air got boring a few snowstorms ago, Bonefish Grill is rolling out a seasonal themed cocktail served in a glass made of, well, ice. Icelandic vodka brand Reyka and Charlotte Voisey, a James Beard-recognized mixologist, teamed up to make the Coldsnap, a combo of vodka, Solerno blood orange liqueur, and blood orange puree.
The freezing-glass cocktail'll bring you the only good thing -- a strong drink -- about those weird ice bars you've always been too nervous to try, and you can enjoy it without donning a ridiculous, insulated cape or feeling like you were abandoned in, well, an Icelandic Winter. Worried you'll pull A Christmas Story and get your hands permanently affixed to the glass? Your drink comes with an awesome pair of mittens. You could also just mix up the drink at home sans cool glass:
- 1 ½oz Reyka vodka
- ¾oz Solerno
- ½oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- ½oz simple syrup
- ½oz Perfect Puree Blood Orange
- Combine ingredients and shake well
- Strain into an ice glass
- Garnish with a dehydrated blood orange slice
