Marijuana-Roasted Coffee Is Here, and It's Totally Legal

For too long, coffee and marijuana have butted heads in competition for America's chemically influenced affections. Well, those days are gone, thanks to Compelling & Rich, an LA-based coffee company offering "herb-conditioned" coffee beans -- in other words, beans that've been treated with copious amounts of the sticky icky. Hell. Yes.

Kian Abedini, the owner of Compelling & Rich, told LA Weekly he exposes un-roasted Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee beans to marijuana vapor before actually roasting them, "essentially hot-boxing the roast room." This pre-roast treatment lends the beans the unmistakable flavor and aroma of Snoop Lion's favorite substance, while the roasting process itself actually strips them of any THC garnered from vapor exposure -- THC being the chemical in weed that induces psychoactive effects.

That's right: smell and flavor aside, this stuff won't actually get you high. Major bummer, we know, but them's the breaks when the vast majority of the country (and the world) considers cannabis possession an arrestable offense (or worse).

Still, if the idea of brewing up a pot of ganja goodness gets you all hot and bothered, you can order a 10oz bag of the stuff for $18 from the Compelling & Rich website and just pair it with your own personal supply. Provided you live in a state where that's legal, of course.
