You already heard it from a wily 100-year-old Brit, and now a 99-year-old Chinese villager is backing her up: booze will help you live forever!* People's Daily Online recently traveled to Shuping, a village where many residents live well into their 90s, to divine their secrets to longevity. The verdict from their oldest subject? Drink plenty of rice wine.
While Yu Fangyin has clocked in an impressive 99 years on Earth, he doesn't chalk it up to a daily jog or green smoothies. According to his daughter-in-law, his main interests include sipping rice wine and smoking -- and he remains remarkably healthy, even as he approaches the big 1-00. Speaking of which, the guy already has plans. He jokes that he'll finally be ready to settle down with a missus once he rings in his centennial, which leads us to wonder if he's a real human or some lab-grown hybrid of Hugh Hefner and Ernest Hemingway.
