If your one great idea about what to do this weekend is "not go to a Mariners game", check out our list of events people might actually be interested in, below:
Thursday, May 2nd
Boom Noodle's new Pike Late Night is basically a late-night tapas menu at the Cap Hill location, where Thurs-Sat from 10p-midnight they're slinging beer/sake on the cheap and shareable plates like the pork buns, above. Want more late-night food porn? Hit the Fbook, here.
Saturday, May 4th
Starting at 5p at Fogon, semi-fictional Seattle-based tequila company Sparkle Donkey is hosting a pub crawl that'll hit a half-dozen Cap Hill spots in honor of the totally fictional Cuatro de Burro festival. Oh, and there will be live donkeys, live mariachi, and free sombreros
Sunday, May 5th
The Mobile Food Rodeo crew is launching Taco Libre, the city's first ever Taco Truck Throwdown, where mobile fooderies like Off The Rez, Marination, and The Fish Basket will be competing for the Golden Taco, as chosen by you. It's going down from noon-7p at the Fremont Market
If you want even more Cinco de Mayo, or even if you just think "South of the border" means, ugh, Oregon, you'll need to know where to find the best guac and margaritas, and the hottest hot sauces and waitresses. But don't worry -- we already found 'em for you. See Seattle's best places to celebrate Mexico's not-independence day, here!
Oola Distillery is hitting Bellevue's Monsoon East on Tuesday, May 7th, for a three-courser featuring Oola-based 'tails and eats like Hue dumplings w/ Carlton Farms pork belly & smoked fish jerky, and a Painted Hills natural beef stew. Hit up Monsoon East for a reservation, ASAP!
