The pork spectacular is back, wants you to eat and drink a lot

What happens when you take five of the city's finest culinary minds and place them in a pork-centric death match for a spot at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen? A lot of jokes about beer flowing like swine. And also, Cochon 555

The culinary competition dedicated to all things pig is kicking off its five-year anniversary tour Feb 17th in founder Brady Lowe's hometown of ATL, and will treat you to an epic pork feast paired with wine, bourbon, craft cheese, and extremely Ilegal mezcal that is actually totally legal.

Turns out people like winning trips to Aspen, so all of the dishes are crazily top-secret for the moment, but you can expect wildly imaginative heritage-hog meals from Ryan Smith (Empire State South), Joseph Schafer (the forthcoming King + Duke), Eric Ottensmeyer (Leon’s Full Service), Whitney Otawka (Farm 255), and Guy Wong (Miso Izakaya)

Prepare for plenty of wines that also flow like wines from local operations

You'll also get five bourbon tastings to accompany your swine -- Four Roses, Templeton Rye, Breckenridge Bourbon, High West, and Buffalo Trace -- plus a Perfect Manhattan Bar and a mezcal tasting featuring (100% legal) Ilegal, Mezcales de Leyenda, and Fidencio

The Craft Cheese Bar will feature fromage from Cypress Grove Chevre, Vermont Butter & Cheese, and an exclusive tasting of blues from Rogue Creamery and Kerrygold

Oh you're full? No you're not. Because here comes the team from Local 3 / Muss & Turners rolling out a family meal of whole pig cooked barbecue-style, a butcher demo from Rusty Bowers of Pine Street Market, pork-spiked desserts from Belle Chevre, and of course a ceremony crowning the "Prince (or Princess) of Porc". Big Gulps, huh?
