Housed in a massive... house just off W Oltorf, GP is a classy Austin staple that hosts more weddings than Senior Spring at BYU. The food's French-inspired, meaning a whole lot of Brie and bleu, but their greatest achievements are their appetizers, carefully honed from being passed around at a bagillion weddings. Chief among these? The Tempura Maine Lobster Tail w/ wasabi butter and jicama slaw. Plus they've also got an enormous wine list, and a gigantic brunch that's famous state-wide and features everything from BBQ'd salmon to double cheddar and garlic grits -- both served with comes-with-the-meal Southern Milk Punch loaded with bourbon, rum, and brandy. Inside, the joint oozes class, from cushioned seats to fireplaces with tricked-out mantles. Did we mention they have peacocks? THEY HAVE PEACOCKS. Hangin' out right out front in the yard.
