Strawberry buttermilk donut balls and grilled pork from a two-time Top Chef competitor

That super-tall dude from two seasons of Top Chef (who also recently worked at Noma, often called the world's #1 restaurant BY PEOPLE WHO KNOW ABOUT THINGS) is behind the creative, farmers market-driven, Cali-centric menu at this weirded-out Studio City Bistro, which -- thanks to a slanted, squiggly-lighted ceiling and gray-ish walls -- kind of looks like a room Kirk and Uhura would get dinner in, after doing the sci-fi sex.

Start with awesomeness like a marinated grilled pork satay or this octopus salad w/ rosemary ash oil, which is one "H" away from being kind of the best app ever.

Mains include a whole snapper w/ Fresno chile and this braised leg of lamb w/ carrot puree & crispy Brussels.

To wash everything down, they've got a carefully-curated wine list full of whites, plus next-level desserts like these strawberry-buttermilk donut balls, which are absolutely worth the Trek.
