The HideOut in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The HideOut

The HideOut
Northeast
Actually not a place that'll harbor you in their complex system of underground tunnels if you're on the lam, The HideOut's a super-low-key all-day breakfast and sammie shop with a massive dog-friendly backyard. Whether you're housing a locally sourced breakfast burrito or sammiches ranging from a banana PB&J to a turkey bacon melt, you'll leave happy. Find out about their CSA partnerships and scope the full menu

Kitty Corner Cafe in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Kitty Corner Cafe

Kitty Corner Cafe
Stadium Village
Everyone on campus has thought at one time or another, "Damn, if only there was a joint that served Istanbul-style waffles and tasty panini sandwiches." The cats behind Kitty Corner Cafe totally thought the same thing, so they opened a place with gigantic waffles perfectly fillable with decadent eats (the Strawberry Field's got white chocolate/strawberries/peanuts/caramel sauce) or savory ish like in the Chipotle Chili Beef Panini. Pistachio Peanut Waffle, Banana Nut Waffle… you've gotta see this menu

Pitchfork Brewing Co in Hudson, Wisconsin.
Drew Wood

Pitchfork Brewing Co
Hudson, WI
A brewery that'll be sued by a certain music criticism website in 3, 2, 1... Pitchfork Brewing's the brainchild of a home-brewer of 20yrs, and launches with an arsenal that includes the APA Pitchfork Pale, the four-malted witbier Outwitted, and a citra-hopped IPA, American Gothic. Get the skinny on their taproom hours and ever-changing selection of firkins

One Two Three Sushi in Dinkytown, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Drew Wood

One Two Three Sushi
Dinkytown
DT Mpls's to-go sushi spot from the cats behind Masu Sushi y Robata's getting a sushi-on-the-cheap brother in Dinkytown, where they'll have all the same sushi offerings as the DT spot, plus nigiri, short rib ramen, rice bowls, beer, and sake. The prices are pretty much insane, with sake bombs going for $1.99

Rojo Mexican Grill in Edina, Minnesota
Rojo Mexican Grill

Rojo Mexican Grill
Edina/Southdale
The crew behind Rojo Mexican in the West End just opened locale numero dos (see what we did there?) in the Southdale Center… and totally went crazy with the new name. Aside from approximately six miles of Hwy 100, the main thing separating Rojo and Rojo is that the Grill's rocking a twice-as-extensive tequila bar. Set your peepers upon that tequila list
