When you were a kid, the only good part of getting up in the morning was the sugary cereals, and your hope that maybe today was when your parents would get undivorced. Now that you're an adult, you can have sugary cereals whenever you want, which takes a little bit of the joy out of it. But Ice Cream Riot, a magical Denver scoop shop, is making breakfast cereals fun to eat again -- by turning them into ice cream that tastes exactly like the real thing.
This is not your average ice cream place -- the owner once left this note on the door that promptly went viral. But he's also unconventional in that he always has four breakfast cereal ice creams in his cases, and they're constantly rotating.
Don't think you'd see that sign in a Coldstone. Enough chatter: let's get to the ice cream.
Fruity Pebbles Ice Cream
Though eating this is less nutritious than consuming Flintstones Vitamins (the other edible tie-in to the cartoon), we think you should listen to what the cone is telling you to do in this photo.
Trix Ice Cream
Someone ought to tell that rabbit that Trix is also for adults who like ice cream, as every bite of this tastes like Trix. That's the beauty of these ice creams -- it's not just cereal thrown into a vanilla base. You get the flavor of Trix in every bite, regardless of whether or not you get a bite of actual Trix.
Licking this ice cream cone gives you all the same flavors as you'd get when you finish eating the cereal and drink that last bit of milk in the bowl. It's no shocker that this is one of the most popular cereal ice creams.
Cookie Crisp Ice Cream
If you like the taste of chocolate chip cookies and milk, this will be your new jam. There are enormous chunks of Cookie Crisp throughout.
Wild Berry Pop-Tarts Ice Cream
"Hey, Pop-Tarts aren't a breakfast cereal," you're thinking to yourself, if you're a stickler for accuracy who probably doesn't have any friends. You're right though, this isn't a cereal. But it is something you eat at breakfast, and it was too cool not to highlight.
The other cereal ice cream flavors
Since the owner rotates the flavors so often, you might not get to try the flavors we've shown off here. But the good news is you might get some of the other ones he's put into rotation: Cocoa Puffs, Honey Nut Cheerios, Cocoa Pebbles, Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch, Crunch Berries, and more.
He's also considering a Corn Pops flavor. And people will absolutely be ordering it, because you gotta have your Pops.
