Stadium concessions, once characterized solely by dirty water hot dogs and overly salted popcorn, are changing. And we don't just mean that in the sense of exorbitantly priced beer and 8lb hamburgers -- more and more incredible feats of hybrid-snack engineering are being phased into concession stands around the country. The latest, and perhaps one of the most exciting, is the Arizona Diamondbacks' new Churro Dog. But it's not merely a Churro Dog, dawg.
Available at Chase Stadium, this 1,117-calorie behemoth contains a warm cinnamon-sugar churro surrounded by a "long john" chocolate-drizzled donut bun (they describe it as being kinda like an eclair), and is topped with a frozen yogurt sundae, whipped cream, and caramel sauce. The fact that it's frozen yogurt instead of ice cream makes this OK for people on diets, right?
The Churro Dog will cost $8.50 and will be available at two different vending stations within the stadium. And since Arizona is pretty much always warm (WE GET IT AND WE'RE JEALOUS), this thing is bound to do well. Also, there's the whole "looking delicious" thing.
