Apparently there's been a mass zombie rising from the mascot graveyard. First, we met the new (hip?) Hamburglar and now, we're about to get reacquainted with KFC's colonel.
In a slate of television commercials debuting on May 25th, KFC will reintroduce Colonel Sanders to the public. This time, they got SNL vet Darrell Hammond to play him. As you'll see in the spots, the series is mainly about Sanders trying to figure out 2015 tech and culture.
(Surprisingly, there's no sketch about his frustrated grandson showing him how email works.)
But the new campaign doesn't just end with mandolin jokes -- it also means some store updates. KFC will roll out all-new packaging and even menu items like Kentucky baked beans with slow-pulled chicken and Finger Lickin' Good Sauce. It's all part of the chain's 75th anniversary, which is already looking way more exciting than most 75th birthday parties we've attended.
