Egg in a basket, or egg-in-a-hole, or, if you're Joey Tribbiani, "egg with the bread with the hole in the middle, à la me," is already a brunch staple for both real and fictional people alike. But for those days when a mere two ingredients alone won't suffice, you've gotta go for the gusto, like i am a food blog did when they made this egg-in-a-hole grilled cheese burger.
This supremely nutritious breakfast is made by cutting a hole out of the middle of the burger of your choice, grilling it on both sides (in addition to two cheese crisp -- aka frico-grilled -- buns), and cracking an egg in the middle, which you can then cook to your desired level of doneness. The resulting burger is pretty much any bleary-eyed diner-goer's dream come true. Just try to keep your friends at bay when you make it.
