Tortilla K-Cups are the food of the future

The Keurig machine has already spawned soup and some very goofy coffee flavors, but now it's inspiring a true revolutionary. The forthcoming Flatev machine takes the basic set-up of a Keurig, but engineers fresh tortillas instead of java, creating an experience not unlike eating at an authentic Mexican restaurant... run by robots.

The Flatev operates on pods of dough that go through a mysterious process in the oven-like machine before popping out as a hot tortilla in less than one minute. Its creator, Carlos Ruiz, dreamed it up after several disastrous attempts to recreate his mom's homemade tortillas in his own kitchen, and hopes it'll save burrito lovers similar hassles. The device unfortunately won't be available to consumers until early next year, but you can add yourself to the waiting list for the time being, and then hopefully never have to wait for tortillas again. Unless you're in line for Chipotle.
