Just before the climax of the modern holiday classic, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Clark W. Griswold receives a "Jelly of the Month" subscription in lieu of a bonus from work, and promptly has a panic-attack-turned-nuclear-meltdown. Despite his Cousin Eddie's assertion that it's "the gift that keeps on giving," Griswold can't help but feel slighted by what he thinks is an incredibly shitty present.
I apologize if I spoiled Christmas Vacation for you, but seriously, it's been out for three decades, and I'm pretty sure TBS loops it non-stop from mid-October 'til MLK day so that's on you. But more importantly here, a subscription to a food and/or monthly booze service quite literally is the gift that keeps on giving all year. You won't find jelly in these nine services, but you will find a veritable cornucopia of meat, alcohol, foreign candies, coffee, more meat, more alcohol, and yes, everyone's favorite: alcohol.
