When Surge was resurrected earlier this year, we dared to dream of other '90s food staples' returns. Would Dunkaroos be next? Or maybe even Squeezits? Unfortunately you still have to go to the Canadian black market for the former, and your imagination for the latter, but pretty soon you'll be able to pluck French Toast Crunch off the shelves again, because the General Mills cereal is returning this month.
As with Surge, French Toast Crunch's reemergence is due to an impressive fan campaign. After seeing the Bring Back French Toast Crunch!! community Facebook page and accompanying petition, as well as fielding a mountain of calls from those same activists, General Mills decided it was time to bring back Cinnamon Toast Crunch's long-lost sibling. The cereal has been discontinued since 2006, but will reappear at select stores beginning in mid-December and go nationwide by mid-January of 2015. One box will start at $3.65. At press time, we don't have any details on the ad campaign plans, but fingers crossed they ask another '90s relic (Deee-Lite?!) to sing the jingle.
