Guy Fieri Made Nachos in a Trash Can, and It Was Glorious

Look, let's not beat around the bush: Guy Fieri has taken some flak in the last couple of years. But does the dude have a disturbingly great cookbook? Yes. And does he excel at taking our preconceived notions about food portions and flavor to the extreme? Also yes. Case in point: this past weekend, at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, he made a serving of nachos so gigantic that the only vessel that could contain them was... A DAMN TRASH CAN.

Fieri, clad in his typical uniform of shiny sunglasses, frosted tips, and a chain necklace, layered tortilla chips with three-cheese queso (not Donkey!) sauce, carne asada, and beans inside of a trash can, which was the only container large enough to hold enough chips to feed the entire audience of his cooking demonstration. After dumping the nachos out on the table (with minor chip casualties), he garnished with jalapeños, salsa, and even more cheese, because, well, he is Guy Fieri.

The individually plated nachos were then passed out to fans. You can see the full photo montage right here, and make sure your current trash can is TOTALLY CLEAN before attempting this.

Adam Lapetina is a Food/Drink staff writer for Thrillist, and his trash can probably can't be clean enough to do this. Read his musings at @adamlapetina.
