Peeps movie to usher in new era of chick flicks

Now that Easter's over, Peeps would normally go back to their marshmallow coop for a year. But this year, Hollywood came calling... and now Peeps are set to headline their own chick flick.

Obviously inspired by the success of The Lego Movie, three producers just optioned the film and TV rights to the famous marshmallow chickens, and even have a story beyond "Peeps do something!" in place. The movie will focus on a wayward Peep, who gets separated from its diorama family the night before the big Peeps contest and must journey through all sorts of fantastical diorama lands to get back. Think Homeward Bound, only in this case, it's okay to eat the animals.

Though no one's specified what kind of themed scenes will feature in the film, we're already bracing ourselves for the Eli Roth-directed diorama.
