Draft beer-flavored Jelly Belly beans are here

In news that surely would've excited the Gipper, Jelly Belly has unveiled Draft Beer jelly beans, so you can finally pair your Buttered Popcorn and Chili Mango beans with brew candy as nature intended.

These Hefeweizen-inspired beans have been a long time coming -- Jelly Belly has been fielding requests for a beer flavor for ages, but it took about three years to perfect the recipe. (Candy scientists don't half-ass anything.) The finished product supposedly boasts "notes of wheat and a touch of sweetness", along with the "mildly bready" aroma (because nothing screams "candy" like "mildly bready"). After a brief tour of the global confectionery trade show circuit, which is a very real thing, they'll be hitting shelves in candy shops nationwide.

Despite these "cocktail" recipes for beer sangria and apple cider shandy on their official site, Jelly Belly wants to stress that there is absolutely zero booze in these things. But no worries: you can just get creative at home.
