McDonald's has been experimenting a bit lately, trying out create-your-own burgers and sending the Hamburglar on a vision quest (not really). But now they're doing something nobody could have foreseen: they've opened a location in Sydney, Australia that doesn't even serve burgers or fries. It's called The Corner by McCafé, and it could be the next big thing.
The trial-run cafe, which is actually located on a corner (so it's cool), will serve some pretty non-traditional McDonald's fare like Moroccan chicken, chipotle pulled pork, customizable protein & rice boxes with chimichurri or chutney, baked goods, coffee drinks, and "craft" sodas in flavors like balsamic strawberry. Yeah, this ain't your typical Hamburglar's hangout.
The Corner is apparently a testing ground for future McDonald's and McCafé menu items, so be on the lookout for that stuff on a corner near you.
