Spend your Lazy Sundays with Ben & Jerry's two new SNL flavors
"Lazy Sunday" taught us back in 2005 that Mr. Pibb and Red Vines equals crazy delicious. But, with respect to Mssrs. Samberg and Parnell, we think we found an even better pairing. Ben & Jerry's and Saturday Night Live are teaming up again to bring you two ice cream flavors inspired by some SNL sketches of the aughts -- specifically, "Lazy Sunday" and Kristen Wiig's recurring character Gilly.
The Lazy Sunday plays on the two dudes' love of (Magnolia) cupcakes by combining vanilla cake batter ice cream with chocolate and yellow cake pieces and a chocolate frosting swirl. Meanwhile, Gilly's Catastrophic Crunch is a blitz of chocolate and sweet cream ice creams, caramel clusters, fudge-covered almonds, marshmallow swirl, and thankfully none of the character's frizzy hairs. You can't buy the new flavors in grocery stores, but you can get them in Ben & Jerry's scoop shops everywhere right now. Friends alum/Bruce Willis co-star Matthew Perry must be stoked.
Kristin Hunt is a food/drink staff writer for Thrillist, and can still recite every line of "Lazy Sunday". Follow her to ill movie trivia at @kristin_hunt.
