When you think of the phrase "to serve and protect", you don't usually associate it with serving pizza.
But when a Pizza Hut delivery guy in Portland got into a minor crash and injured his back (he's doing fine now), the police on the scene overheard him calling his boss to tell him he couldn't complete the order and offered to do it for him. The manager had already delivered an extra half-price pizza to Steve Huckins, so Steve was pretty surprised when he got a knock on his door from the police -- and spotted the pie he had ordered in the first place. And the police didn't even investigate his house, even though the dude had two pineapple pizzas.
Talk about going above and beyond the call of doughty.
