Man asks Kickstarter for $10 for potato salad, gets $11k and counting

Most of the big-hitters on Kickstarter involve amazing marshmallows or LeVar Burton, but one man's simple project is taking the crowd-funding world by storm. A few days ago, Zack Danger Brown decided he wanted to make some potato salad, except he needed some cash. So he took to Kickstarter, declaring to the world, "Basically I'm just making potato salad. I haven't decided what kind yet." His goal was $10. Four days later, he's hit $11,000, and the cash is still flowing in.

Obviously the dude's stretch goals have expanded, and what began as one guy making himself a batch of potato salad is now on track to be a live-streamed potato salad party in a rented venue. There're some pretty kickass rewards involved too, including potato salad-themed hats and haikus. You know this guy's potato poetry is bound to be better than T.S. Eliot's, so chip in some dough, or mayo, before the project ends on August 2.
