Macaulay Culkin is in a band that does pizza-themed Velvet Underground songs. Really.
After watching him take out Joe Pesci with a paint can as a young man, we always knew Macaulay Culkin would grow up to do great things. He had us worried for a second with all those photos of him looking like Rickety Cricket from It's Always Sunny, but Culkin is officially back in the game with The Pizza Underground, a Velvet Underground tribute band whose songs are all about pizza.
The group's demo dropped last week, and it's every bit as glorious as their descriptor, a "pizza-themed Velvet Underground cover band", would suggest. The nearly-nine minute track runs through brief renditions of VU and Lou Reed songs like "Walk on the Wild Side" ("Take a Bite of the Wild Slice"), "Perfect Day" ("Pizza Day"), and "Sweet Jane" (just straight-up "Pizza"). Just in case that's not enough pie for you, they even have member Deenah Vollmer playing a pizza box as an instrument. Don't ask how, just shut up and listen.
