For the fifth year in a row, Thrillist’s Barbecue & The Blues is going down at the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival on Friday Oct 17th, so jump on tickets now and get involved with Food Network stars (it’s hosted by the cast of The Kitchen) and some of NYC’s best chefs to help decide whose meaty concoction rules NYC.

We can’t name all of the chefs and dishes here, because we like to keep some mystery alive in this relationship. But, just to get your BBQ juices flowing, we can say at least five of the best BBQ spots in the city will be there, and a couple of the dishes you'll be shoving in your mouth include smoky brisket on flaky biscuits from Hometown Bar-B-Que, beef cheek pastrami from Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque, and BBQ lamb ribs & chicken chili from Sweet Chick.

And since it wouldn’t be Barbecue & The Blues without some actual badass blues going on, there will be exactly that, with live music throughout the party.

Wash down all the excellent meat with aggressively flowing liquids that'll include a healthy selection of seasonal brews, wines, and specialty cocktails (then eat more so you can wash it down again).

Oh, and 100% of ticket sales go to benefit hunger relief charities Food Bank for New York City and Share Our Strength, so not only will you be getting top-notch 'cue (and cocktails, and brews, and wines, and live music, and fun-ass times on the dance floor), but you’ll also be doing some good. Get tickets now before they sell out again, and if you need more inspiration, scroll through some of the dishes from last year below.
