Renaissance sandwiches and shots for dessert

Piacere Mio means “the pleasure is mine”, though more importantly, this Italian café in South Park is actually aiming to please your eye and palate with desserts that verge on works of art and painter-named panini like this Da Vinci, made with a terrible Tom Hanks haircut speck, cream of mushrooms, Taleggio & arugula between fresh bread. In an effort to cram all the best of the boot into every bite, they import meats and cheeses from Italy, get Pappalecco to deliver fresh bread on the reg, and Dolce Italia, an authentic Italian bakery in San Marcos, custom-creates the desserts. A selection of “Mini Bites” includes a lemon meringue tart along with mint chocolate, cappuccino, and raspberry cakes, the sum total of which will create a non-mini you.Or better yet, forget the whole mini thing and just go full-size with Spumone (pistachio and hazelnut Bavarian cream with toasted almonds), Principe (chocolate mousse with a wild raspberry mousse center), Esotica (Belgian chocolate and strawberry mousse), and Tiramisu.Slowly savor the flavor of mousse desserts like an Italian with these “Shots”, or, in true American fashion, down the whole tray. Why order your caffeine in a plain ol' cup (amateur!) when you can have a Marocchino? Nutella lines a martini glass and melts with hot espresso topped with foam milk.Order an Affogato and pour a shot of hot espresso over vanilla gelato drizzled with chocolate, and the pleasure will truly be yours. As will the diabetes.
