The Weekend Playbook: Chili dogs, Shriners, and dirty comedy festivals

Atlanta Event of the Week Saturday, November 16th, 1-6p: 33 breweries are packing into the Yaarab Shrine Temple for The Ponce de Leon Beer Festival, where you can swill as yet-unreleased local brews, but, sadly, since you’ll be drinking, you will be unable to drive around in one of these little cars.

Kimbrel's coctails

Friday, November 15th, 7p: All-Star closer Craig Kimbrel is feeding you dinner, putting on a country music show by Cole Swindell, and plying you with cocktails in an attempt to make you forget the Braves are moving to the 'burbs raise money for cancer.

Saturday, November 16th, 2-7p: Castleberry Chili's hosting a chili cook-off the way they're meant to be: at a firehouse, with eats from some of The A's best chefs, a shton of beer, and a hot dog-eating contest.

Sunday, November 17th, 10a-4p: Unlike the rest of Atlanta’s ‘cons, Repticon doesn’t involve tons of sweaty nerds talking Dr. Who. This one is sweaty nerds dealing with snakes, bearded dragons, and other creepy crawlers. Just don’t bring your pet rabbit. Need something else to do this weekend? Why not hit one of Atlanta's 47 sweetest bars and restaurants?
