3. We’re not all crooks, cops, lawyers, or college kids
According to the movies, we have only four “occupations" here: crook, cop, lawyer, and college student. Maybe, just once you get a janitor and a college professor. Even in movies that aren’t set in Boston, characters from Boston are one of those four. Just look at the “notable offenders”... the list speaks for itself. We didn’t even have enough room for all of them. Why you holding us back, Hollywood?

Ok, welllll, maybe we are. So what if we have the highest concentration of Irish (20.4%) in any US city? That doesn’t mean we’re all carrying shillelaghs. If you’re keeping score, there are only four possible occupations and only one possible ancestry. But they can be mixed and matched, so that’s cool. Like Irish cop or Irish crook. Ahh, stereotypes.
