‘Tis the season for things that go boom in the night. And despite a nationwide shortage of colorful exploding patriotism, you’ll find a feast of fireworks in the suburbs around Dallas-Fort Worth this Independence Day weekend. We have a separate guide coming out this week with firecracker-less shenanigans for you to enjoy this weekend, too, but until then allow us to take a deep dive into North Texas’ sky-high pyrotechnic delights.
Saturday, July 3
Addison
Tickets for our region’s biggest fireworks event sold out in minutes this year, but you can still purchase a hotel package that guarantees admission for up to six people and, bonus, you won’t have to worry about driving home in all that traffic. (You can also livestream the fireworks from the comfort of home, if that’s your thing.)
Cost: 10 Addison hotels are offering special rates, starting at $89 (six tickets to Kaboom Town! included)

Saturday, July 3
Arlington
This 4th of July, Globe Life Field will give the Texas Rangers a night off from Major League Baseball proceedings to celebrate America. The field will be open to the public, but vendors will be closed so you’ll probably want to tailgate in the parking lots with your own provisions before the show.

Frisco
Immediately following the FC Dallas game, the Frisco skies will light up with an elaborate fireworks display. Catch a glimpse from anywhere in the surrounding area, or grab a ticket to the soccer match guarantee a prime seat.

The Colony
Tons of food vendors at the Liberty Food Court and a live concert at 7:30 pm on the main stage highlight the pre-fireworks festivities at this lakeside fiesta.

Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie
Fireworks are all about celebration, and what could be more worthy of that than winning big while playing the ponies? Spend the afternoon wagering then cap off the day with an epic fireworks display.

This year’s “Bring Back the Spark” theme marks the return of an in-person 4th of July event for the city. More than 15 food vendors and a beer garden will be available for your dining and drinking pleasure before the big light show above Irving (which can also be livestreamed from home).

Grapevine
Pack a picnic and head to one of the many parks lining Grapevine Lake for a night of fireworks set to patriotic music. Check out the map for complete details including parking costs and other information, but your best bet for maximum viewing is to cop a squat on Oak Grove Park.

Sunday, July 4
Carrollton
Josey Ranch Lake will be illuminated from above for a 15-minute fireworks show, which can be viewed from the park or in surrounding neighborhoods. It can also be streamed live starting at 9:30pm.

When a shopping center hosts a fireworks show, you get the perks of easy access to concessions from on-site Castle Hills restaurants alongside popular food trucks. You can also bring your own cooler, blankets, and lawn chairs for a true Independence Day party vibe.
