Dallas Event of the Week Most people are of the mindset that beer goes with everything from a burger to a bowl of cereal, but if you’re a bit more sophisticated, then head to Cook Hall this Friday night at 7pm and they will be putting together pairings that don’t involve Lucky Charms. They will have five courses in total, including a grilled lamb chop with an apple-jalapeño puree and rosemary crumbs. Things end on a bourbon sundae with coffee custard and a mocha crumble. Friday, February 21st: Austin-based singer songwriter Bob Schneider will be performing at the iconic Kessler Theater this Friday night. Get your tickets quickly though, because his late show is already sold out and tickets for the early gig are disappearing fast.
Saturday, February 22nd: So, what are you doing this Saturday? If your answer isn’t breaking a Guinness World Record you should reconsider your plans. Join 999 of your closest friends (or at least, soon to be closest friends) at the Hilton Anatole to break the record for the most people making sandwiches simultaneously. 1,000 to be exact
Sunday, February 23rd: What is better than beer? Trick question, but the answer here, in fact, is not "nothing". The answer is, "beer that has been aged in liquor barrels", and luckily the folks at Goodfriend are doing just that. They will have four different beers on tap that have been aged in tequila barrels, including one with ancho chiles and one with prickly pear cactus. More tasty beer information right this way
Tuesday, February 25th: Kick off your last week in February the right way -- with a five-course beer-paired dinner at Social House. Creative combinations like Fireman's Pale Ale and Maine Lobster Fritters will be served along with more obvious pairings like Fried Ice Cream and Brewers' Cut Double IPA (duh!). Call 972.392.4300 for reservations.
