Freebie of the Week Addison's annual Oktoberfest is this weekend, so to help you get your prost on, we've talked 'em into giving out free tix. All you've gotta do is TWEET THIS out, and we'll pick three random tweeters and give 'em each four FREE tickets for this weekend. Thursday, September 19th Minnesota is saying they're better than us because they raised $6.7m for charity in one day last year, but the truth is, outside of Adrian Peterson and the Juicy Lucy, they don't have anything on us, so head over to Caruth Haven for an all-day fest including a bunch of food trucks, a guitar ensemble, and a... penguin? Yep -- a penguin Friday, September 20th A bunch of people are trying to turn parking spots on Main St into tiny parks to celebrate PARK(ing) Day. Alternate parking will be on top of Klyde Warren (don't, like, actually do that, mkay?). Local whiskey? Yes. Local whiskey-paired five-courser? Yes times five, especially when you find out it's being hosted by Cook Hall, which's doing numbers like grilled pork tenderloin and jalapeno fritters alongside classic whiskey 'tails and neat Herman Marshall. Call 'em up to RSVP. Saturday, September 21st Deep Ellum is becoming the burger capital of the world for a day with BurgerFest, featuring a couple dozen different burger-makers (Rodeo Goat, Maple and Motor, Ten Bells Tavern, Whiskey Cake...) taking over a couple blocks of Main St between Malcolm X and Crowdus. Red Bull is testing the efficiency of those wings they don't actually give you, and they've convinced a whole bunch of people to jump into a lake to help out with Flugtag over at Lake Carolyn.
