Power boats, giraffes, and Springsteen

Detroit Event of the Week
The whole city comes together this week for some feel-good multiculturalism with the 22nd Annual Concert of Colors -- a weekend celebration of the many communities, ethnicities, and music stylings that make Detroit, Detroit. Be sure to check out the schedule so you can see who’s playing where and when, or just because you really enjoy looking at schedules.

Thursday, July 10th: Adults can get their dose of Vitamin Z this weekend with the ever-popular Zoomance at the Detroit Zoo, which means things like giraffes, snow monkeys, cash bars, and "favorite nostalgic foods". Is it weird to hope for animal crackers? Continue Reading

Friday, July 11th: It’s that time of year again for the American Power Boat Association's Gold Cup on the Detroit River. It’s that thing where the crazy cool boats go crazy fast. You’ve probably heard and/or seen them before.

Friday, July 11th: Remember the ‘90s? Of course you do, and you can relive the glory days of ‘90s pop and alternative rock at DTE Music Theater as they host the Under the Sun Tour, featuring Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray, Blues Traveler, and Uncle Kracker.

Friday, July 11th: There are plenty of Hitchcock films that seem suited to Summertime viewings, and Vertigo is one of them. The Redford Theatre is showing the classic this weekend on Friday and Saturday.

Saturday, July 12th: Springsteen. The E-Street Band. All the classics. It would be awesome to catch some of that on a Detroit Summer’s eve, but sadly The Boss doesn’t have a Detroit stop lined up anytime soon. Instead, we have the next best thing. Bruce in the USA -- the World’s #1 Tribute to Springsteen and the E Street Band -- Saturday at the Magic Bag.
