Detroit Event of the Week
The reasons behind holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas have gotten a little lost over the years, but no man shall ever forget why we celebrate December the 5th -- that glorious day when booze once again was allowed to flow freely according to Congress. This year, celebrate booze itself with repeal parties at Sugar House (period-appropriate dress encouraged!) or Cliff Bell’s (ditto on attire, also burlesque!). In fact, maybe hit both.

Detroit Institute of Art

Saturday, December 7th: It’s the 41st Annual Noel Night, which means everything wonderful in Midtown is either free, open late, or just awesome as usual. Stroll around the DIA or the Michigan Science Center for free, and there’ll be free samples of Avalon goodies and live music at Cass Café among much more. Check out a full schedule of events here

Saturday and Sunday, December 7th and 8th: If Etsy had a Detroit home, it would be at the Masonic Temple where the 8th annual Detroit Urban Craft Fair will be taking place on Saturday and Sunday. Find a list of vendors on their website
