Easter brunch, Record Store Day, and the Globetrotters

Detroit Event of the Week
Saturday is National Record Store Day, which means it’s the best time of year for vinyl fans everywhere to show their local record store some love. This year, you’ll be able to find new releases at places like Solo Records, take in some in-store performances at Found Sound, and groove (!) at Anthology Coffee’s listening party.

Thursday, April 17th: Get geared up for a Saturday full of vinyl by celebrating the age of cassettes and CDs at The Corner's Rewind Thursdays Happy Hour Party. From 9pm-12am, DJ Rob-Play will be spinning your favorites from the '80s and '90s while you get down on beer, cocktail, and appetizer specials. Continue Reading

Saturday, April 19th: Motor City Wine and the folks at Albert Kahn’s historic Cadillac Shop have teamed up to present a BBQ with beer from New Holland and Founders, as well as hand-picked wines from MCW. There will be tours of the shop throughout the night, and proceeds will benefit the restoration of the building, while the BBQ will benefit you, directly. Grab tickets here

Saturday, April 19th: Now that the Pistons season is nearly at an end, come see a successful basketball team play at the Palace when the Harlem Globetrotters roll into town. You can even vote on new game rules to add to the ridiculousness of the whole she-bang.

Sunday, April 20th: Easter brunches abound in the city, so take your pick from some of the best -- like The Whitney’s fancy affair with top-notch omelets and mimosas, or The Grille Midtown’s, where there will be Grand Marnier-stuffed french toast, crab cakes & eggs, and so much more.
