Houston It's 4th of July weekend, which means if you aren't out there celebrating America's greatness by overeating and drinking patriotically, the ghost of Ben Franklin will be really sad. Bring your lawn chairs to Eleanor Tinsley Park and join 50,000 of your fellow patriots at the Freedom Over Texas concert and fireworks show, starting at 4pm. Thursday, July 3rd: Get your Independence on early at Celtic Gardens’ Pre-Fourth of July Bash. DJ Ebonix will be spinning out on the patio while $5 red, white, and blue shots will be spinning into your mouth. Around the corner, Pub Fiction will have the same shot specials, which is a good thing considering it’s live band karaoke night.
Thursday, July 3rd and Friday, July 4th: A few blocks down, Capitol Bar Midtown will be turning itself into the shore for their Pre-4th of July Beach Party, complete with water, sand, live DJs, drink specials, and more. Thursday, July 3rd-Sunday, July 6th: Catch four nights of free concerts at City Centre’s weekend-long 4th of July Bash. On Friday, the '90s country group Mustache the Band will rock the house until the fireworks show at 9:30pm.
Friday, July 4th: It doesn’t get more American than burgers and beer, so you should probably celebrate the USA on The Wave’s Burgers and Brew Bus. First stop, BRC Gastropub for burgers and craft beers at 5pm. After that, get a tour and tasting of Buffalo Bayou Brewery. After you're nice and buzzed, finish the night with a wild street party at Silver Street Studios, complete with a DJ, more beer, and a prime viewing of the Freedom Over Texas fireworks. Tickets are $60 for everything or $10 for the fireworks watch party only.
Friday, July 4th: Stuff your face with jumbo crawfish, sausage, corn, and potatoes at Beaucoup Bar & Grill’s 4th of July Crawfish Party on the patio. A $25 ticket will get you entrance to the party, a platter of good eats, and discounted drinks -- including $3 drafts and $1 Jell-O shots. And did we mention there’s beer pong? God Bless America!
