So much beer, and even more crawfish

Houston Event of the Week
Don’t miss the giant block party that is the Houston Art Car Parade. Grab a cooler and set up shop along Allen Parkway to watch the most ridiculous art cars, unicyclists, and human beings around. The parade kicks off with an Art Car Ball on Friday, hosted by Artemis "I have a bleached #$%@&#@," Pebdani of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fame -- but the parade itself is the best part. And it's free!

Thursday, May 8th: The NFL Draft Party at Reliant may be sold out, but that doesn’t mean you can’t watch the draft in style. Head to the Texans Grille at City Centre to watch the draft on the big screen while you enjoy happy hour drink specials, contests, and giveaways. Get this month’s beer special, a 20oz Karbach Weekend Warrior, for just $3.50.

Friday, May 9th: Because one day is not enough, start pregaming for Katy’s Wild West Brewfest early with Friday’s Pre-Party Party, starting at 7pm. Tickets for the more intimate affair are $30 and include a special pint glass, live music, and tastings from local brewers like No Label, Southern Star, and Buffalo Bayou. Then on Saturday, starting at 2pm, get rowdy with the crowd at Katy’s largest beer event, featuring 25+ small-batch breweries, live music, and contests. Tickets start at $25 ($34 at the door), and $60 for VIP ($85 at the door).

Saturday, May 10th: We think it was Aristotle who once said, "It’s not a Saturday unless you're on a pub crawl." As luck would have it, Karbach is hosting a Midtown Pub Crawl to raise money for the Robert Garner Firefighter Foundation. Pick up your punch cards at Little Woodrow’s anytime between 2-5pm, then crawl your way through Midtown’s finest until you reach the block party at the end. Tickets here

Saturday, May 10th: Celebrate the first fantastic year of D&T Drive Inn’s life. The neighborhood ice house is hosting a One Year Anniversary Party, where they’ll BBQ and tap rare casks all day long. Just remember: Mother's Day is the next day.

Saturday, May 10th: It’s safe to say Houstonians love a good Cajun crawfish boil. Pair that with 8th Wonder’s brews and you have yourself a fine Saturday. The Crawfish-N-Brews party starts at the brewery at 11am. Pay $20 and get 1lb of flavor-packed mudbugs and three, count ‘em, three tokens for pints of some of the best brews in town. Add on another 5lb bucket for $30 bucks. Rinse. Repeat.
