When it comes to the cinema, no one ever goes to Leicester Square anymore, as it's too crowded! Rather than find out if that irony means it's actually now quite empty, flee to Film Fugitive: an "ongoing popup" that matches inventive venues with a classic flick, then cruelly limits the budding romance to just a few dates.
The initial run involves taking over several London churches for candelit, organ-accompanied showings of Hammer's Dracula, Cabinet of Dr Caligari, Bugsy Malone, and more, while the future will involve drive-in action/adventure films, and screening Reservoir Dogs in an abandoned warehouse, a fine place for everyone to get slaughtered.
Each screening will see a bar, with the current one offering spicy mulled cider, boozy hot chocolate, signature 'tails, and a range of beer/ wine/ spirits. Cine-rations count a popcorn-popper at each site, plus cakes & brownies, all freshly baked -- putting them in the only possible state in which one might want to visit Li-ses-ter Square.
