Howard Marks is notorious for selling weed, writing books, and making Keith Richards actually look healthy by comparison. He's not famous for hosting pub quizzes, but that'll all change soon when he does just that at the lauded Disco Bistro EC4, in St. Paul's Rising Sun pub on the 27th of this month.
The quiz will be largely centered on sex, drugs, and rock & roll, and'll draw from his experience smuggling 30-ton shipments of green, tangling with the likes of the Mafia, the CIA, the IRA & MI6 -- letters that finally produced a whole sentence… of 25yrs in federal prison. Winners will get £100, and runners-up will get signed autobiographies detailing all of the craziness.
They'll give you a rum cocktail upon arrival, and then you won't be eating these tasty-looking burgers from DB's last event. But you can imagine how they'll execute the likes of a Findus-style "mystery meat" crispy pancake to start, then a Sopranos-inspired rose veal parm, and an "edible spliff", whose munchies will solve themselves. Close it out with a Fat Elvis, which slings together peanut butter gelato, bacon caramel, frozen grapes, candied bacon, and probably Keith Richards' life expectancy.
