So, like, what the heck was Dionne from Clueless doing onstage at the Oscars tonight? Good question!
These Are the 7 Best Jim Pranks From 'The Office,' Ranked
In one of the weirder moments during tonight's Oscar telecast, host Chris Rock introduced "the director of our new minority outreach program," at which point former B-list teen movie star and current Fox News commentator Stacey Dash emerged from the wings, gave an evil little chortle, and said: "I cannot wait to help my people out. Happy Black History Month!"
Long removed from her days cruising in the convertible with Cher and dissing Shawana's polyester hair extensions, Dash incited controversy back in January when she said the #OscarsSoWhite backlash is "ludicrous" and that "if we don't want segregation, we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the NAACP Image Awards, where you're only awarded it if you're black." (She also called for the abolishment of Black History Month because "we're Americans, period.")
Why an otherwise self-aware, racially sensitive Oscars telecast invited Dash on to poke fun at her own tone-deaf remarks/troll us all is unclear, but suffice to say, people were -- to quote Cher Horowitz -- totally buggin'.
