Drink beer for breast cancer awareness at Green Flash’s biggest rare beer event of the year. For the for the fourth time, Green Flash is putting on their Treasure Chest Fest to raise money for Susan G. Komen. The event includes food pairings from 10 local restaurants like Carnitas' Snack Shack, Fish Public, URGE, and more; pin up girls for photo ops in the brewery; casks of rare beers; and 30-minute, behind-the-craft educational presentations. The brewery will also be releasing Treasure Chest 2014, a barrel-aged saison with plum.

Slater's 50/50

Sunday, September 7th: Slater's 50/50 is starting football season off right with a Sunday Football Breakfast Menu launching this Sunday at 9:30am. The menu is served all day, every Sunday through the regular football season with items like donut burgers and chicken & waffles.

Sunday, September 7th: Cheer on man’s best friends as they hang ten (probably better than you) at the annual Surf-A-Thon Dog Surfing Competition at Dog Beach in Del Mar. Fido paddles out at 8am and there will be beach activities along with a stand-up paddle board parade for you and your pooch, with all proceeds benefitting the Helen Woodward Animal Center.

Sunday, September 7th: The Brazilian Day Festival is taking over Garnet Ave in Pacific Beach between Bayard St and Everts St from 11am-7pm. There will be a parade, multicultural arts and crafts, Brazilian food, and two entertainment stages with live music and dancing to celebrate Brazilian culture/help get you over your World Cup withdrawal.

Blue Ocean Robata and Sushi Bar

Wednesday, September 10th: Blue Ocean Robata and Sushi Bar and the Carlsbad Village Association are teaming up for a Village Table Wine Dinner. From 6-8pm, guests will enjoy a five-course dinner paired with wines from Carruth Cellars, which will be opening a winery in the Village this fall. The courses include dishes like hamachi crudo, wasabi-panko crusted lamb, and chili-orange chocolate fondue.
