Your 5 best moves for Halloween weekend in San Diego

Halloween falls on the actual weekend this year -- none of this mid-week awkwardness to worry about. Figure out a costume and prepare to hit these five Halloween happenings, then get ready to see Christmas crap everywhere come Monday.

Event of the Week
Hard Rock Hotel San Diego is putting on a Haunted Halloween Carnival starting at 8pm. There will be more than 20 DJs keeping the party going all night on three floors and in five different venues, so you can feel like you're party-hopping without actually having to go anywhere else.

Friday, October 31st: Get ready for a hotel takeover from 8pm-4am for Haunted Harrah’s Halloween celebration. Harrah’s Resort has partnered up with several of the top party promoters in SD to bring you 30 DJs and live performances (as in ICE CUBE) on multiple stages, casino gaming, VIP tables, and more all night long. Transportation packages to and from the hotel are also available with shuttles that will be picking up partiers all over town.

Friday, October 31st: The Gaslamp will be shut down from 6pm-midnight for the 14th Annual Monster Bash. The party will take over 8 blocks of downtown with five stages of live entertainment, 17 DJs, and a costume contest with a $5,000 grand prize. There is a free shuttle service available to spare you the awkwardness of taking a cab ride in costume.

Friday, October 31st: The San Diego Zombie Crawl starts at 6pm with the B.A.D. event at AD Nightclub that includes a welcome shot and theatrical performances until 10pm. The night will continue with 20 stops in the Gaslamp, 13 hosted drinks, and a Freakish Finale at Stingaree. There are also free shuttle rides from Downtown to anywhere in SD county.

Saturday, November 1st: If you’re still in the Halloween spirit on Saturday, put that costume back on and keep the party going with the Day of the Dead Pub Crawl. Check in Downtown at Taste & Thirst between 2-10pm to get started. Tickets get you $2 draft beers, 2-for-1 mixed drinks, and $4 shots at participating venues.
