San Diego Event of the Week Bacon is taking over SD all week long. Thursday is the Baconeers East Village Takeover with Bub’s at the Ballpark, The Blind Burro, and Southpaw Social Club all serving special bacon dishes like bacon-wrapped chicken wings with Carolina Gold BBQ sauce for $5. Board the USS Midway on Friday for the International Bacon Film Fest. They will be showing short films about bacon while serving bacon-themed appetizers. Oh, and there will be an open bar. As if you haven’t had enough bacon over the last week, there is still the main event on Saturday -- the 2nd Annual Hormel Black Label Bacon Fest. Unlimited sampling of everything you can imagine that's made from (and covered in) bacon is included with your ticket, and of course there will be beer so you can wash it all down.
