Bacon cook-offs, beer fests, and free cookies!
Event of the Week
Aztec Brewing Company’s 3rd Annual Bacon & Brews Cook-Off starts at the brewery in Vista at 1pm. Teams will be competing for trophies and prizes with dishes of their own creation -- made with bacon from pigs that have been fed Aztec Brewing’s spent grains (mmm... spent grains). Samples of the competing dishes will be provided to the audience on a first-come first-served basis and, of course, there will be live music and plenty of beer.
Thursday, May 15th: It's National Chocolate Chip Day and The Cravory is celebrating by putting six different chocolate chip cookies on the menu in their Point Loma location, including bacon chocolate chip, banana chip, PB chip, and more. Stop in today to get a free chocolate chip cookie of your choice with the purchase of... another chocolate chip cookie.
Thursday, May 15th: Drake’s Brewing's all-IPA Dinner at Sessions Public is tonight. Starting at 7pm, guests will be served a three-course, Indian-inspired dinner with vegetarian samosas; naan bread with dal, chutney, and yogurt sauce; and curried lamb chops with sweet corn sundal -- all paired with IPAs from Drake’s.
Saturday, May 17th: Butcher's Brewing is throwing a one-year anniversary party from 11am-6pm. Get yourself a ticket to the VIP hour from 11am-noon and you’ll also get a T-shirt, unlimited tastings during that hour, a pint glass, and a special Anniversary IPA that will only be available during the VIP hour. General admission starts at noon and the party keeps going until 6pm with live music and food trucks.
Saturday, May 17th: The South Park Abbey is hosting their next Brew n’ Que featuring Coronado Brewing Company starting at 2pm. They’ll be serving slow-smoked BBQ beef brisket sandwiches with BBQ sauce made from Coronado Brewing’s Orange Wit. There will be more than a dozen Coronado beers on tap AND a surprise cask.
Sunday, May 18th: The Brew Rendezvous is happening from 1-4pm at SILO in Makers Quarter, bringing together San Diego restaurants, farms, and breweries like Alchemy, URBN, Suzie’s Farm, Ballast Point, Alesmith, and many more for a food and craft beer pairing event.
