A new brewery and a two-day pub crawl
Event of the Week
Council Brewing just opened the doors to their tasting room last week, but they are ready to share their heady lineup of American, Belgian, and English-inspired brews with you THIS weekend. Their small-batch offerings include a sessionable, well-balanced Lively Banter (American wheat, 5.5% ABV), the New Zealand-hopped Gavel Drop (IPA, 7.1% ABV), and a powerful, malty creation called Pirate's Breakfast (imperial oatmeal stout, 8.6% ABV). Get yourself to Kearny Mesa and make sure to grab a growler or two to stock up for Memorial Day -- they won't be open on Sunday or Monday.
Thursday, May 22nd: Henebery whiskey has teamed up with Saltbox for a dinner party starting at 7pm. The menu features six bites from Chef Jeremiah Bryant, like lacquered pork belly, seared local sea bass, and more -- all paired with Henebery whiskey cocktails from the Saltbox bar team. Reservations here
Friday, May 23rd: Pacific San Diego Magazine is footing the bill at the Padres/Cubs game after-party hosted by Maloney’s Tavern in the Gaslamp from 10pm-midnight, with free Shock Top, Mexican Moonshine tequila, sliders, nachos, and wings. Make sure to RSVP
Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th: Memorial Day is this Monday, which basically means you get two Saturdays this weekend. Make the most of the situation by picking up a two-day pass to the SD Memorial Day Pub Crawl -- $2 beers, two-for-one cocktails, and $4 shots will fuel your crawl through the Gaslamp.
