A bacon and beer fest you don't want to miss

San Diego Event of the Week
The Bacon and Barrels Festival is kicking off Friday night with an all-bacon VIP dinner prepared by Top Chef alum Brooke Williamson, plus beer and bourbon pairings from "Dr." Bill Sysak from Stone Brewing starting at 5:30pm. The festival itself takes place Saturday from 1-5pm at the Embarcadero Marina Park South with craft brews, wines from Santa Barbara wineries, bourbon, tequila, and Scotch, plus bacon-based foods from local chefs and live music from The Stone Foxes and Black Crystal Wolf Kids. All Weekend: This Saturday and Sunday, the Santee Street Fair and Craft Beer Festival will get started at 10am with 300 food and vendor booths, two stages with live music, carnival rides, and 40 taps of regional brews. All Weekend: The 35th Annual Fiesta del Sol is happening in Solana Beach Saturday and Sunday from 9am-9pm at Fletcher Cove. There will be live music from more than 18 bands -- thanks to the Belly Up -- gourmet food trucks, beer, wine, and art vendors.

Saturday, May 31st: Herringbone is turning two and is celebrating by throwing a Brews & Grooves party. They are teaming up with Acoustic Ales and will have a variety of specialty beers on tap, along with music from The Yes Team, Ryan Hiller, and David Shyde, starting at 1pm. There will also be a special menu featuring flat breads, a two-handed burger, beer battered fish and chips, and beer brat and pretzel with beer mustard.

Sunday, June 1st: The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon gets started at 6:15am at 6th and Quince and finishes up at K St and 13th. You can run a full marathon, half marathon, and relay with more than 10 stages set up throughout the course with local San Diego bands performing to keep you motivated.
