10 things worth checking out at the Grand Prix
Before you get your hypocritical-pants dance started, we still do think DC is better than Charm City. But this weekend is one of those times you need to venture North and check out the Grand Prix, where, along with watching three days straight of souped-up rides tear around the downtown streets of B'more, you've got nine other sweet things to see/do while you're there:
The Grand Prix
Other than Christopher Mintz-Plasse, there're few things cooler than witnessing 180mph open-wheel and sports cars rip around a 12-turn, two-mile-long street course in downtown B'more.
This is a nifty digitally animated video taking you through the course and the downtown streets of B'more. NOT included in said video: digitally created vagrants.
Grid Girls
Grid girls are women each team has at the track promoting the brands, and looking pretty, and pretending they're interested in your job as a contractor for the Department of Defense. PRO TIP: Tell them you're Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
Taste of Maryland
Located near the Baltimore Hilton and Winner's Circle (your group of friends?), the Taste of Maryland tent is where one can scarf down some state favorites like crab cakes, soft-shell crab sandwiches, terrapin soup and fried oysters.
Grid Girls
Did we mention that some pretty women are usually hired by the teams to promote their brands, and look pretty, and pretend they're interested in your job as a contractor for the Department of Defense?
Ryleigh's Oyster Raw Bar
Holding down McKeldin Square all weekend long, the local Fed Hill restaurant will have bivalves and -- so you can eat like a boss -- pit beef sandwiches.
Budweiser Party Zone
This outdoor beer garden is where you'll come to grab brews, gear up with some live music, and watch blurs whiz past you on the main straightaway.
Grid Girls
Though we definitely haven't mentioned it yet, pretty women are usually hired by the teams to promote their brands, and look pret-- wait, what's that? We already did? Twice? Oh. Right.
Pickle's & The Deck at Camden Yards
Two of the city's biggest outdoor beer gardens are also located just outside Camden Yards and the track; stop by as they're going full blast all weekend with DJs, beer, and BBQ.
Autobahn Indoor Speedway
Stop by the Baltimore Convention Center mini-speedway for European-style indoor go-karting with these high-speed electric go-karts that can hit 50mph and have infinity mpg.
Grid Girls
Oh man, Christopher Mintz-Plasse is gonna get so laid.
