No matter how you feel about all this debate over marathons lately, you can certainly agree that a bunch of beer would help everyone get along. So be proud that DC is doing it right tomorrow, thanks to Beerathon: 26 venues around town, each serving you a full beer at a huge aggregate discount (plus, a portion of the profits go to charity)
The event's already done all sorts of good in NYC and (strangely) Houston, and works thusly: buy your $55 ticket now (with a Thrillist discount), then check in anytime between noon and 3pm tomorrow, and you're free to hit the bars in any order you want. Everyone gets a $20 Uber credit to get home safe, and the whole tour is contained in NW DC (not that there's anything wrong with any other quadrant! They're all awesome in their own way!), so expect to hit
Dupont: BGR's got Dogfish Head 60min IPA, James Hoban's tapping Guinness Black (natch), and Madhatter has Goose Island's Honkers, though it's pretty early in the tour to be obsessing over those already
Adams Morgan: 18th Street standouts include Bourbon dishing Dale's Pale Ale, plus Allagash White & cold young people on The Reef's roof, while further south, Larry's Lounge has Starr Hill Northern Lights and Localat's got Port City Optimal Wit -- sounds about right for this many beers in
U Street: Get your French on at Bistro La Bonne with Kronenbourg 1664, and then end it all at Touchdown with a Porkslap, so normal marathons aren't the only ones that'll give you a great can!
