World Baseball Classic

Since the Olympics gave baseball the boot in 2005, the WBC's filled the void: teams from 16 countries/territories compete, with Florida repped by Marlin Matt Lindstrom and Angel/Ft. Lauderdale native Scot Shields. Miami holds the second round, with possible teams like Canada, US, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Panama, Dominican Republic, Italy, and The Netherlands, led by outfielder "Shoeless" Jan Jaapson (you'd go barefoot too if you had to wear wooden cleats).
