Usually when you think of great things involving cabins, it's Log Cabin syrup, the North Georgia Mountains, and the movie that 10yrs ago, predicted what happens to your skin if you listen to a whole Wiz Khalifa mixtape. Enjoy something else that's smoked for hours, in a dwarf-sized shack, at J-Bones.
New to Austell, J-Bones is a meat-smoking, fish-frying BBQ slinger with a UGA-ish interior paint job and a handbuilt wooden cabin trailer out front with a walk-in kitchen where beef, chicken, and pork're slow-cooked on its small porch after being dry-rubbed, and whose owners include the family that previously owned Austell deli/'cue spot Skeeter's, so you know they're gonna try and pack this one from the windows to the walls. Snizzack on fried goods (pickles, green tomatoes), or Old Crow-bourbon-marinated wings, then go for sammies like the Texas-toasted Longhorn Deluxe brisket w/ Swiss & slaw, half-pound Angus burgers (fried egg-topped Rise 'n Shine, PBR-marinated Beer Burger), or the open-faced "scattered" burger atop two white bread slices topped w/ fries & cheese sauce, which they call Whitney's Pony Shoe, though Bobby prefers the white horse. For supper get N'Orleans BBQ shrimp (sauteed in Worcestershire-spiked garlic butter), a four hour-smoked bone-in half chicken, 12hr-smoked pulled pork, the Smokehouse Sundae (layered baked beans, pork, slaw, BBQ sauce & a pickle on top), or the three-meat Pit Boss combo, a dish big enough for you and your Shorty, dog!
There's an all-you-can-eat fish fry every Friday night (catfish, tilapia, shrimp, or oysters), plus every-day awesomely deadly desserts like double-chocolate brownies topped w/ bacon bits, and grilled candy bars (Snickers, Three Musketeers, Mounds...) wrapped in flour tortillas and layered with Fluff -- hey, this Wiz Khalifa-style is catching on everywhere!!
